We are currently seeking a Senior Project Officer to join the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST)—a key unit within the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, Australia’s largest—and the world’s most ambitious—ant eradication initiative.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the FAST Manager and leadership team in delivering the program’s eradication and suppression objectives. Your contributions will help ensure the successful planning, coordination, and execution of FAST initiatives.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with a passionate, high-performing team committed to protecting Queensland from the threat of fire ants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support program governance and reporting to maintain transparency and effectiveness

• Lead and assist in the implementation of strategic and operational work plans

• Manage and contribute to projects with a strong focus on timelines, resources, and outcomes

• Apply your skills in data management to inform decisions and track performance
