Job Description:
This job aids in the building and updating of U.S. Navy ships, working right in waterfront yards and drydocks. The role needs hands-on tasks on ships in changing weather situations, like big heat in summer and strong cold in winter.
We need a good Engineering Tech III to come to the GDIT group in the SACSS plan, which gives key help to the U.S. Navy. This plan aims to keep up, make better, and update the systems for talking, electronics, and fighting that help the warriors do their jobs well and safely.
This job is physically tough, needing one to work in tight and very hot spots on ships, climb dry dock steps/ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds. About 80% of the work asks for pushing, pulling, or carrying stuff while up, moving, stooping, or going through small gaps. Following safety rules well is key.
Prior U.S. Navy experience (e.g., MM, GSM, EN, or equivalent rates).
Experience with NAVSEA Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) or Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC).
Proficiency in Navy maintenance and logistics software systems.
OSHA 10/30 Maritime certification or completion of NAVSEA Basic/Advanced Safety Training.
Familiarity with Navy QA standards such as QA Level I.
